On my recent absenteeism
Sorry if I've been absent, both physically and electronically, lately. Work has been hell the past few weeks. In fact, the past few weeks have been the worst of my year so far. I worked two completely insane weeks, immediately followed by a nasty illness (I was out for 5 days), followed immediately by another two weeks of full-on hell at work. This past week, I had worked 40 hours by Wednesday. Fortunately for my sanity, health, well being, etc., that project is just about over and I'll never have to deal with that client again (crosses fingers).
I've been doing strange things like working a 15-hour day, then hacking on an open source project for 2 hours before going to bed. Or throwing this thing
together. Or working on the moblogging site. Or various random distractions, such as drinking and smoking. It's strange to get home from work at 3am or 5:30am and not be able to sleep. I'm not used to this kind of stress, though I think I'm handling it fairly well (haven't been beating brindle
or anything ;).
I went to the spine doctor today, and here's what he found:
My left hip is 14mm lower than my right one, and I have various stresses up and down my back forming a sine wave of sorts. The voodoo practitioner assures me that this is quite correctable, so that makes me feel a bit better. I get my first adjustment
Ok, I'll leave you with the x-ray beast at the doctor's office:
